There’s actually a third: North Kansas City, MO. This little gem often gets overshadowed, even though it’s proudly its own city.

Kansas City, MO, buzzing with jazz and culture in the 18th and Vine District, while Kansas City, KS, quietly holds its ground with a rich historical flavor and an industrial backbone. And then there’s North Kansas City, MO, charmingly community-driven and just waiting to be discovered.

Each city has its quirks and charms, like a trio of siblings each with their own unique flair. So, the next time someone mentions “Kansas City,” maybe give them a sly grin, knowing you’re in on the secret of this tri-cities tango. Embrace the diversity, and you’ll unravel the delightful mystery of what makes each of these Kansas Cities genuinely remarkable.

Kansas City, MO (aka KCMO) made its grand entrance first, incorporated in 1853, setting the stage for its bustling growth. Then came Kansas City, KS (aka KCK) in 1872, born out of a need for its own unique identity. North Kansas City, MO, rounded out the trio in 1912, bringing along its distinct charm.

And here’s an intriguing tidbit: Kansas City, MO, boasts more boulevards than Paris and more fountains than any city in the world except Rome.
